Department of Cardiac Anesthesiology

The main activity of the specialised department is to provide comprehensive services within the Cardiac Centre - for patients of the cardiology and cardiac surgery department - in the entire scope of anaesthesiology and resuscitation. The spectrum of activity includes the administration of anaesthesia in cardiac compromised patients and in high-risk procedures, including the indication and cannulation during extracorporeal circulation (ECMO). Cardiac anaesthesiologists also provide resuscitation and intensive care in the Postoperative and Resuscitation Care Unit of the Cardiac Surgery Department and in the Acute Cardiology Department.
